New Accelerator Program “EUStartGees” Launches Open Call for Migrant Entrepreneurs in Italy

The accelerator program, co-financed by the European Union will launch its first batch by September 24th, and is inviting refugee entrepreneurs in Austria, Finland, Italy, and Spain.

EU in partnership with Migration Hub, Startup Refugees, Chapter 2, Fondazione Eris Onlus, OSB Consulting and IVC Accelerator, launched a call for migrant entrepreneurs based in Madrid, Barcelona, Turku, Milan or Vienna, with a migrant background and want to start their business. 

EUStartGees is designed to support the delivery of a powerful entrepreneurial support scheme for young refugees, and help them become self-employed. It helps entrepreneurs to build a successful enterprise while at the same time creating the conditions for full inclusion in the local countries’ hosting community.

The project is tailored to refugees, with age between 18-25 years, with the aim to help them build on their existing skills and knowledge to re-start a labor path in the hosting countries and to start their own business.

It will offer specialized training and mentoring, including specialized trainings and improving the basics of the hosting country’s language, up-skilling professional competences with the support of a network of professionals. It will promote their professional competences, support in growing and setting up migrant businesses from the idea stage as well as developing MVPs (Minimum ViableProducts) to pre-launch their product to the market.

The program will be carried out in Austria, Finland, Italy, Spain supported by Germany, with 16 participants per cohort.
