For the first time, Startups Without Borders is holding its first summit, an event where trailblazers from all around the world will come together to celebrate their journey and create a community of game-changers without borders. Kicking off a line-up of inspiring speakers, Chaker Khazaal, the Palestinian author of “Confessions of a War Child,” will take to the main stage, inaugurating a series of thought-provoking voices of inspiration.

Chaker Khazaal is a Palestinian Canadian reporter, speaker, former Editor-in-Chief of StepFeed and YallaFeed and author of two books,” Tale and Tala” and “Confessions of a War Child”. He has a passion for storytelling and is an advocate for refugees and aspiring young writers. He dreamt big and wants to encourage refugees to dream big too.

Born in 1987 as a Palestinian refugee in Lebanon, Chaker grew up in a camp in Beirut. He understood the struggle refugees go through and their limited access to opportunities, so he founded a for-profit program that offers refugees and migrants contractual remote employment in e-marketing graphics, social media management, and web development. In 2016, he was ranked first by Arabian Business Magazine in the list for “100 Most Powerful Arabs under 40”.

Khazaal is making great waves as a novelist as well. His new book – Tale and Tala is a romantic thriller about the journey of a refugee of a Palestinian refugee from a camp in Lebanon that turned into a life of prostitution. It was an Amazon bestseller in April 2018. It’s a love story that is meant to bring light onto the hidden difficult life refugees lead to survive.
