From March 16th to April 6th 2021 Stacks MENA in partnership with GIZ Egypt and Changelabs will be hosting the region’s first online Blockchain Bootcamp and Hackathon, to provide training, development, and funding for startups to build their platforms on blockchain technology. The Bootcamp will run for 3 consecutive weeks, followed by a 3-day Hackathon with up to $30,000 in prizes. Applications are open, and will close on March 5, 2021. 3 winners will be announced at the end of the hackathon with $25,000 in total winnings, and all participants will also be eligible for an additional $5k per startup if their proposal is approved by the stacks foundation.
The team at Stacks MENA are all working towards one mission – to make a positive, global impact by creating a new and inclusive blockchain ecosystem in the region. The Bootcamp’s main goal is to offer startups unparalleled access to the resources needed to launch their business, acquire new customers, build long-term partnerships, recruit staff, and raise funding. The hackathon winners will seamlessly be weaved into the global Stacks ecosystem, which in return will create immense opportunities for all.
“It was a dream to bring a high-quality educational program in Blockchain technology to MENA,” said Mohamed Abdou, Lead at Stacks MENA.
Mohamed Abdou, Stacks MENA lead Said ‘’I’m very excited about this program – it was a dream to bring a high-quality educational program in Blockchain technology to MENA, so we’ve created it and we’ll help the hackathon winners build real Blockchain products that can solve real problems on the ground.”
The Bootcamp will showcase 15 prominent startups in the market sourced from both the ecosystem as well as through partnerships throughout the entire MENA region. It’s often easier to come up with new business ideas but more difficult to implement those concepts; thus, workshops and coaching sessions will be delivered by thought leaders, mentors and experts in the industry that are tailored to help startups immediately implement new concepts for long-term success in their business.
“The intensive 3 week program will create an opportunity for startups to interact with some of the world’s most renowned entrepreneurs and discuss their ideas with leading VCs.”
Karim Samra, Changelabs CEO added “Changelabs is committed to bringing unique opportunities to MENAs entrepreneurs – the MENA Stacks Bootcamp is a regional 1st – we’ve partnered with Stacks and GIZ Egypt to design and build a leading edge curriculum with global experts meant to help startups create better products that leverage the latest technology.”
The intensive 3 week program will create an opportunity for startups to interact with some of the world’s most renowned entrepreneurs, discuss their ideas with leading VCs, and roll up their sleeves and code the technology of the future. From a social perspective, the Bootcamp will include networking events, family dinners, activities, movie nights, and team building exercises that will build lifelong friendships and a network of business partners.
