Italy-Based Startup Mygrants Raises €300,000 Investment to Grow its 90,000-Strong App

Mygrants, based in Bologna, has just announced a €300,000 Investment from a|impactE, a social impact fund created by Avanzi and Etica Sgr, to grow its platform across Italy and MENA.

Italy-based startup Mygrants has just secured a €300,000 Investment from a|impactE, a social impact fund created by Avanzi and Etica Sgr, to support the startup’s growth in team development, launching new services, internationalization and development of its web platform.

Mygrants, led by Chris Richmond N’zi and Aisha Coulibaly, was established on February 23, 2017, and is the first app based on microlearning for migrants. With over 90,000 active users (85% of which are in Italy, 15% in the Middle East and North Africa), the app provides migrants with information, training and support towards specific professional destinations (such as job placements, entrepreneurship, higher education paths), through 8,000 thematic quiz modules.

In its first 3 years of life, Mygrants has grown exponentially, adding 11.500 high-skilled profiles from 18 Italian region to its recruitment platform, and managing to attain 1.640 job placements across 5 Italian regions.

Today, the Mygrants Team is made up of 14 people from 8 different countries; 70% are women and 50% have a migrant background. The company recently marked International Migrants Day, holding the Mygrants Day online.

Today Mygrants collaborates with major national and international organizations including TIM, ItaliaCamp, Deloitte, UnipolSai, National Chamber of Italian Fashion, Adecco Foundation, Hogan Lovells, Unicef, GoodWall, Cartedo and Atingi.

The investment adds to the startup’s previous rounds, led by You Can Group Srl, Future Food Accelerator Srl, Arcadia Holdings srl and OPES-LCEF ltd, totalling €1 million.
