Rubiena Duarte

Rubiena Duarte is the Global Diversity & Inclusion Officer at Arcadis, bringing over 25 years of leadership in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) across industries and countries. Prior to Arcadis, she has held leadership roles as Vice President of DEI at The Walt Disney Company, as well as key DEIB positions at Manulife, HP and Dell. Rubiena is deeply committed to embedding inclusion into both workplace culture and business strategy. She believes that driving meaningful, systemic change requires a dual approach— cultivating an inclusive internal environment where every employee feels valued and ensuring that DEIB is woven into client engagement, partnerships, and community impact. By aligning DEIB with business goals, she helps organizations unlock innovation, improve decision-making, and create equitable opportunities for all stakeholders. Beyond the corporate world, Rubiena has been dedicated to social impact. She worked in rural South Africa with an NGO supporting women who survived rape and domestic violence and led Dell’s philanthropic and ESG initiatives in Africa. Based in Toronto, Canada, she has lived and worked across the Middle East, Africa, North America, Europe, and Asia. She also serves on the board of Build a Dream, an organization dedicated to empowering young women to explore careers in skilled trades and STEAM.
