Up for grabs are 40,000 Euros by the Berlin Newcomer Startup Award for the best startup ideas. Deadline for application is the 31st of October!
By SWB Team
SINGA Business Lab first hosted the Berlin Newcomer Startup Award in 2018 at Spielfeld Digital Hub. The high-energy pitching event will be held for the second year where ten teams will pitch their startup ideas competing over a cash prize worth of 40,000euros.
Startups need to be newly established and located in Berlin, Germany. The competition provides several advantages such as: winning up to 20,000 euros (main prize for founded startup) or up to 1,000 euros (best startup idea). An independent jury will choose the best ideas and businesses.
Last year, Syrian startup Reviving Homes, an online crowdfunding platform founded by Hadi Soufan, and aims to help displaced people to rebuild and revive their war and crisis-torn cities, took the biggest award of the night, valued at €20.000.
Participating teams will also get the chance to expand their network as hundreds of interesting people from the Berlin startup scene will be at the award. It is a good chance to connect with a mentor, investor or business partner.
Finalist participating teams will also get the chance to enhance their presentation skills as they will receive free pitch and presentation training from SINGA Business Lab.
The award is organized by the SINGA Business Lab and financially supported by the Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises.
